After a busy month filled with preparations for the holiday season, completing last minute projects, wrapping up school lessons, and settling into the general routine of winter, we are now enjoying the lazier, mid-season days. Hubby has had extra time home from work; we have taken a break from school work and music lessons, and I have kept our calendar as free as possible in order to take advantage of these slower days. I hope you all have enjoyed this holiday season, and I wish you and yours the best for the upcoming new year.
Highlights of the past week...
~ coloring and crafting
~ snuggling and hunkering close to the wood stove, wrapped in Grandma-made blankets
~ Little House on the Prairie (of course, it's always better when wearing fancy 3D glasses)
~ re-gifted superheroes (from older brothers)
~"thermos" tea and sweet treats
~ sledding
~ snow-storms and ice-storms
~ forts made in the freshly fallen snow
~ wet mittens on the drying rack
~ shoveling
~ playing games in front of the Christmas tree (yes, our tree is still up)
~ reading
~ knitting (of course!)
"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year"
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Lovely pictures. I especially like the oranges in the bowl photo and the barn window in the snow - both are very pretty. Looks like your family is having lots of fun together. And our tree is still up too - it can't come down before New Year's!
