On Hubby's last trip to the dump, instead of just dropping trash off, he actually brought something home, a sweet, wooden highchair. All it needed was a bit of tightening and a good scrubbing, which two of the Littles were more than happy to do. Whenever water and a hose are involved there is never a lack of individuals volunteering to help. I was so happy to finally get rid of the ugly, falling-apart, plastic chair that Little #10 sat in and replace it with this lovely wooden one. It fits so nicely in the corner where he sits, and he seems quite happy with his new seat.
As I have recently mentioned, it is so gratifying to make something that has been cast off as trash into something new and usuable. I'm sure this little highchair will get many more years of use, as a highchair now, a toddler seat without the tray later, and maybe eventually start over again with the next generation.

It's amazing what things people throw out sometimes, your high chair looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find. I have a wooden high chair from my childhood, but the little babe climbs out of it. So for now, she uses a plastic one until she will stay put on her own!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful chair. I don't know how people can just throw things out like that when there are so many organizations now a days that take cast-offs and give them to people in need. Great find!! : )

I agree with Wendy how can people throw something like that away? What a great find for you!
ReplyDeleteWow. What a find! It's amazing what people just throw away.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful old thing. And I totally agree, it's always best to use whatever comes our way, and reuse it, and upcycle it as approprate :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe someone threw it out, it's so lovely. What a great find, and how nice to be able to give it a new life. x
ReplyDeleteI love the feeling of rescuing items too. This look amazing what a lovely high chair. We just rescued a hall stand from an old inn that was hiding in a big pile of rubbish waiting outsideto be taken to land fill. Ahmad spotted it. It seems that both our hubbies have similar skills.
