Wallpaper Reveal

Do you remember when I asked you for advise on choosing a wallpaper for a tiny entry room in our new addition? (You can find that post here.)  Well, I finally got around to hanging the wallpaper, and I am so excited about the way it turned out.  In fact, this tiny little room, with nothing but two doors in it, has become one of my favorite areas in the house.  I love, love, love the wallpaper that I chose. It makes me think of my grandmother every time I walk through this little room. Although the wallpaper is reminiscent of days gone by, it also has a clean, modern look to it.  It's just perfect.
It seems silly to be "revealing" a room that has nothing in it, but it's amazing how homey this little space has become simply by adding a little color and pattern to the walls.
Remember the before?
(Drum roll) Here is the after!
Pictures taken by my daughter.
I chose wallpaper #2.  I was a tad bit nervous that the pattern may be too busy or the colors too bright, but I was very pleasantly surprised.  The pattern is not busy or bright at all; in fact, it's actually soft and quite subtle.  The only thing I would change about this room is the placement of the thermostat. I'm not too keen on having it in the middle of the only blank wall.  Now that the room is finished, I see that it would have worked nicely tucked inconspicuously on the wall next to one of the doors.  Oh, well...hind sight can be 20 20 at times.

I love how the white doors and trim really pop now, and the dark, espresso floor compliments the light, cheery colors.

For a small, fairly insignificant room, it has lots of character, and I'm very pleased with the results.

Well, it has been a long day...my little one isn't feeling well, and it is time for me to go check on her and give her more meds. She was suppose to be flying to Vanderbilt University Children's Hospital this week for a visit with a specialist, but the doctor was concerned about the safety of her traveling, so she postponed the appointment and agreed to work with us over the phone. I am very relieved that we didn't travel as our Little one has come down with a virus, and would not have been able to make the trip. It's amazing to see the way God works things out.

Have a good night!

  2. I really like the one you chose! What a way to give what could just be a "pass through" some great interest. Now, it begs one to stop and enjoy!
Glad you can hang paper. We have to hire that done--it's cheaper than marriage counseling. Tee hee.
Hope your little one is much better soon!
