This week is the official beginning of our summer vacation. The Littles have finished their school lessons, and, although learning continues in many ways, we are all ready to lay aside the textbooks for a while and enjoy the warm, sunny season that is upon us. I was able to linger a little longer over my coffee this morning, enjoying a lovely stroll through my gardens. It seems that everywhere I look something is blooming...roses, irises, lilacs, creeping geraniums, lilies...the yard is alive with color, and I just can't seem to get enough of it.
Our home was quite a hub of activity this past weekend with visits from two of my sisters, teen-age sleep-overs, and Father's Day celebrations. A peaceful, early morning walk through my gardens was just what I this mama needed.
You seem to have jumped almost overnight from snow to midsummer! And how fruitful your garden now looks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to take a stroll. I love morning light... warn and cool, renewing and comforting, all at once.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely week!
How beautiful your garden looks at the moment. And it must feel wonderful to be looking forward to a good, long break from the pressures (however rewarding!) of schooling.
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays. It looks like you picked the perfect time for a morning stroll with sun rising in the sky. Are those purple blooms, chive flowers ( I nearly wrote chive fairies then...obviously it looks magical to me) Sounds like you had a perfect few days with your family. I'm fortunate to have three sisters and we have a great time when we are together. Unfortunately it's very rare that all four of us can do so at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI hope you manage lots more peaceful walks this week.

ps I love your dragonfly watering can.
Your new garden beds looks wonderful - definitely worth an early morning stroll. Your day lilies have bloomed before ours! I always admire the lilies when we are on vacation in Maine in July - they grow really well up there!
